Position Title: Messaging Admin(L3)

Shifts: Yes - Rotational

Organization /Function: Perform operational and project tasks during work shifts and guides/mentors peers and junior IT specialists.

Reports to: Messaging Lead

Years of experience: 6 to 10 years

Relevant Experience(Exchange  administration): Min 6 years and at least 2 years of L3 experience

Educational Qualification: Bachelors/Master’s Degree in Computer Science/engineering with excellent academic record

Job description:

The primary responsibility is to support the existing or implement new messaging Infrastructure.

Escalation point for L1 & L2

Assist Managers & Leads

Must-have Skills:

At least 6+ year’s experience in implementing, supporting and administering enterprise scale messaging and collaboration environments (MS Exchange , Microsoft Lync/Skype)

Prior Working Experience

Install, configure & troubleshoot different roles of Exchange servers

Mailbox Database and Public Folder Database Creation, Deletion, handling permission issues and managing replication

Managing DAG and CAS Arrays ,troubleshooting failover issues, addition and deletion of Exchange servers from clusters

Migration of an on premise Exchange environment to Exchange 2010/2013 or to Office 365

Troubleshooting inbound and outbound queues, mail routing issues, server errors, mail delivery latency issues, analysis of NDR

Configure, maintain & troubleshoot email gateways, anti-spam (Proof point, Barracuda, Mimecast, etc...)

Handling OWA, ActiveSync related issues

Problem determination and resolution within SLA's with good analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Produce detailed and accurate technical documentation

Highly self-motivated and directed.

Excellent attention to detail.

Ability to effectively prioritize, organize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment


Prior Working Experience

With an ISP/Managed Services/IT Services company is preferred, and a background in dealing with global teams and remote teams will be a strong plus

Install ,configure ,maintain & troubleshoot DirSync, AD FS

Configure, maintain and troubleshoot Office 365 environment

Install, configure & troubleshoot Microsoft Lync

Troubleshoot Lync client issues related to IM, Voice, Video, Desktop Sharing, etc

Unified Messaging, Active Directory, LDAP, Kerberos and DNS.

PowerShell cmdlet and scripting knowledge

Microsoft Exchange certification is a strong plus

Certification in ITIL will be a strong plus


Day-to-day  Operation issues, Service Requests and Project tasks related to Messaging infrastructure

 Respond and resolve escalated system incidents, problems or outages and accurately report and document solutions

Problem determination and resolution within SLA's

Install, Configure, Maintain and troubleshoot Exchange servers

Managing Databases(Creation, Deletion, Modify Settings for Maintenance and Logs) and Database recovery

Configure ,Maintain & troubleshoot DAG

Configure, Maintain and troubleshoot connectors, Email Address Policies, CAS Arrays etc...

Exchange Patch management- plan, test, schedule and deploy the security patches on Exchange production environment

Responsible to support, troubleshoot and provide solutions for: Microsoft Lync, Exchange, Active Directory, Certificate Services (Specifically Simple Certificate Enrollment Protocol)

Responsible for providing senior level of support for Exchange Team.

Participate in team on-call response 7x24x365.

Monitor performance levels and capacity of supported applications, and assist in proper capacity planning and management.

Engage with monitoring team to ensure proper monitoring of all supported Messaging Applications.

Must be able to produce detailed, accurate technical documentation.
